Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers to tour the Virgin Islands!

AHOY ME HEARTIES! The popularity of The Pirate Song led me begin work on a collection of pirate songs, with an eye toward eventually turning it into a theatrical production. Well, I have a whole galleon of sea-faring, ship-plundering songs now, so in order to flog those shanties into shape I’m taking a rock and research trip to the Caribbean with two of Nashville’s finest freebooters, the corsair of the kick and snare Paul Griffith, and the quartermaster of quarter notes Lorne Rall on bass. We’re working on booking the tour now, from Feb 28- March 14th, traveling to St. Thomas, Tortola, St John, and St Croix.
In addition to our rollicking, sing-along pirate songs, we’ll celebrate Mardi Gras before, during, and after Fat Tuesday(Paul was anchored in New Orleans for years), throw in some slide guitar blues, and plunder the great American songbook for treasures to bestow on our captives.

Red Beet Records Show at Americana Music Association Conference

We'll be playing from 5-7 on Friday, Sept 10th, and there's a rumor that the legendary Cowboy Jack Clement will be doing a guest appearance. The rhythm section is Jim Gray and Mark Horn, so you know it's going to be great.
P.S. It was a gas! I played with most of the acts, including Cowboy Jack Clement, whose "Egg-Sucking Dog" I've sung of thousands of people in various runs of "Ring of Fire".
